Student Email Tips
How do I check my Email?
From School:
- From Internet Explorer or Safari (Web browsers) – type in login.microsoftonline.com
- Type in your Email Address – (firstname.lastname@stu.oldham.kyschools.us)
- Type in your password (be careful NOT to mix up your upper and lower case letters).
4. Click on Sign In.
5. To read an email (new or old) double click on the email.
Note: New emails are always BOLD
How do I create a new Email message?
- Click on “new mail” (located at the top left corner). From the IPad click on the circle with the + in it (located in the upper left hand corner).
- In the “To” section, type the Email address of the person you are wishing to Email. Remember:
Teachers Emails are in the format: firstname.lastname@oldham.kyschools.us
Student Emails are in the format: fistname.lastname@stu.oldham.kyschools.us
3. Check the persons Email address by clicking on three dots … and choosing Check Names.
4. Type text in the subject line (what the Email is about).
5. Click in the body of your Email and type your message. Be sure to include a greeting (Dear Mrs./Mr. ____) and closing (Love, From, Sincerely). Emails should be written in the format of a letter.
6. Proofread your message before sending to make sure there are no grammatical or spelling errors.
7.Once you are sure your message is complete, Click on “Send”. From the IPad click on the Envelope with the circle around it to send your message.
From school, how do I attach a file to my Email?
- Follow steps 1 – 6 located in “How do I create a new Email message? “ From above.
- Click on the paperclip. Click on attachments. The attach files window will open.
- Find your personal folder and file (your username you logon the computer with the s: after it).
- Double Click on the file you want to attach.
- Your file is now attached to your Email.
Please remember to logout of your Email account when finished.
